Shop/wine critic/winery review of the wine: There were not very many reviews for this wine. The reviews that I found seemed to be around 3-4 stars out of 5 stars. The reviews mentioned how the wine had an apple and citrus taste. Additionally, the reviews mention how it has a grapefruit flavor and is sour. https://www.vivino.com/AU/en/beliveau-destiny-vidal-blanc/w/4185805?ref=nav-search
References of specific flavors, aromas, and grape varietal characteristics taken directly from the Wine Folly text, with page numbers referenced: I could not find a lot about Vidal Blanc or Virginia in the Wine Folly Book. I did find that on page 287, it shows that Vidal Blanc is normally grown in the midwest United States. Besides that, I could not find any information on the grape or Virginia Wines. The book seems to focus on the west coast made wine in the United States, such as California, Oregon, and Washington.
Your review: I thought that this wine was weird and not for me. When I first smelled it, I thought it smelled kinda odd. I do not know exactly how to describe the smell, it was sort of sweet, sort of smokey, sort of grassy. I thought that it also had an unusual taste, it tasted slightly-sweet with a hint of grass. It also reminded me of food, maybe mozzarella sticks.
I did not drink this wine with food. I think it would have been better with food.
